The Chatham County Screening of “Bulls and Saints” was a Success!

July 26, 2024

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the Chatham County screening of *Bulls and Saints*! The event was a tremendous success, and it was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces in attendance.

The evening was highlighted by a deeply engaging community dialogue. One audience member expressed their appreciation for the event, sharing, “I appreciated being in this space because it gave a different perspective on migration from what is portrayed in media. I never considered the part of missing family, culture, traditions, and home as part of the migrant experience. It made me realize that [US culture] is plain and missing so much richness that I hate I’ve missed out on all of this.”

This insightful comment underscores the importance of creating spaces where diverse perspectives on migration can be shared and understood. It was a powerful reminder of the multifaceted nature of the migrant experience and the profound impact of cultural displacement.

A special thank you goes to our esteemed panelists: Liz Ramos, Atziri Cortes Perez, Hannia Preciado (Moderator), Ingrid Castro, and filmmaker Rodrigo Dorfman. Their contributions enriched the discussion and provided valuable insights into the themes explored in *Bulls and Saints*.

The reception following the screening was a delightful experience, featuring a vibrant menu that included Fresh Mini-Conchas, Mini-Chicken and Mini-Cheese Quesadillas, Mini-Quinoa Tamales, and refreshing Jamaica and Cucumber-Lime Aguas Frescas. We extend our gratitude to Tacos El Primo for their spectacular service and for adding a flavorful touch to our event.

Once again, thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a memorable and meaningful experience. We look forward to seeing you at future screenings and community dialogues!
