Collaborative Garden

The Collaborative Garden was created in 2021 to address food insecurity and wildlife habitat loss through education and outreach focused on urban wildlife conservation, permaculture, and sustainable urban agriculture. All food grown in the garden is given to volunteers or donated to local food pantries and community fridges.

The garden is designed to represent an urban backyard and demonstrates various ways of producing a meaningful amount of food while also supporting wildlife. Food crops are grown using sustainable growing practices and traditional wisdom.

In addition to growing food, The Collaborative Garden also acts as an urban greenspace and outdoor classroom for local groups and organizations, including Orgullo Latinx Pride (link to program page), Communities in Schools, and Scouts. Groups visit the garden year-round to volunteer, conduct science projects, or attend single or weekly gardening classes.

The Collaborative Garden is managed by Amanda Jones.

Visitors are welcome, we just ask you not to harvest.
