On May 3rd, Orgullo Latinx Pride proudly participated in Siler City’s beloved Annual Chicken Festival! It was a fun-filled day of community, culture, and celebration—and we’re especially grateful to our incredible youth and parent volunteers who made it all possible.
From the early morning setup to the final food sale, our team showed up with heart and hustle. Our parent volunteers cooked up a delicious menu featuring tostadas de tinga, tamales, and classic Mexican street corn —a huge hit with festival-goers! Meanwhile, our youth stepped up by taking orders and serving customers with care and professionalism.
Thanks to the support of everyone who visited our booth, we’re excited to share that we raised $3,800! Every dollar will go directly back into the Orgullo Latinx Pride program, supporting educational opportunities and leadership development for our students.
Thank you for being part of this special day—we couldn’t have done it without you!
