Advocacy & Civic Engagement Program Manager
Full-time Bilingual Position Available Immediately

El Vínculo Hispano (EVH) seeks a dynamic and motivated individual to lead our Advocacy and Civic Engagement Program. The program’s goals are to build the long-term power of directly impacted Latinxs and protect and advance the rights of immigrants in North Carolina.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Empower directly impacted Latinxs in Chatham County to exercise their leadership skills, identify issues of common concern and develop strategies to address these issues
  • Coordinate leadership, civic engagement, and know your rights trainings
  • Develop rapid response strategies to address raids and deportations
  • Coordinate power of attorney legal clinics
  • Assist in the case management of families impacted by raids or deportations
  • Engage in advocacy efforts to with and for Latinxs to advance immigrants’ rights
  • Represent EVH in regional and statewide coalitions
  • Participate in non-partisan GOTV efforts and voter education
  • Recruit and manage program volunteers
  • Manage program related social media and text messaging service
  • Assist in fund raising efforts
  • Prepare program reports for the board of directors and funders
  • Participate in other organizational activities and events
  • Utilize our database and other tools to track program data and results

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English (must be able to speak, read and write)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in community organizing
  • College degree preferred
  • Ability to work with persons of varying socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
  • Organized and strategic
  • Team player
  • Committed to social justice and equity
  • Knowledgeable of Latin American cultures
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Resilient and adaptable
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities and deadlines
  • Willing to work some evenings and weekends

  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising a plus

Compensation:
Salary range of $37,000 to $39,500 annually commensurate with experience. 10 days paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, 12 days’ sick leave, and health insurance stipend
