Full-time Bilingual Position Available Immediately

Based in Chatham County, NC

El Vínculo Hispano is looking for a dynamic, creative, inclusive, and organized person to join our awesome Orgullo Latinx Pride Youth Program team (OLP). Orgullo is a free year-round program that empowers Latinx high school students from 9th through 12th grade at two Chatham high schools. There are 81 youth enrolled in the program. Most OLP members qualify for free or reduced lunch and will be the first in their families to attend college. They have diverse backgrounds and gender identities. OLP also empowers their parents to advocate for their children´s education and well-being.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position, and it is not remote. The coordinator will work out of our Siler City office and two Chatham high schools. The coordinator works closely with two program staff and the youth leadership team to accomplish the program’s goals. This position reports to Selina Lopez, Program Director. 

Program activities include weekly meetings, individualized academic and socio-economic support, assistance with the college enrollment process, leadership development, and field trips. Visit us at

Primary Responsibilities, in collaboration with OLP staff:

  • Implement OLP’s curriculum and help develop weekly lesson plans.
  • Co-facilitate weekly youth group meetings at each high school. 
  • Assist in recruitment efforts and selection process for new youth members.
  • Assist OLP seniors with the entire college application process. 
  • Help organize field trips, community service activities, and other events.
  • Provide ongoing support for social-emotional and academic guidance for youth members. 
  • Help coordinate activities, meetings, and trainings for parents of youth members. 
  • Help update social media platforms.
  • Participate in coalitions and networks to advance education equity. 
  • Utilize our database and excel spreadsheets to track program data and participant’s information.
  • Participate in fundraising efforts for OLP and El Vínculo Hispano.
  • Participate in other organizational activities and efforts as needed. 


  • B.A. or B.S. from an accredited 4-year institution, preference given to majors in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Human Development, Family Science, or related fields.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish (able to read, write and speak)
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience working with youth 
  • Knowledgeable about the college enrollment and financial aid processes (FAFSA, RDS, CSS Profile)
  • Team player who is also able to work independently and manage priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to relate to people from different socio-economic backgrounds, gender orientations, and immigration status.
  • Committed to social justice, racial, gender and education equity.
  • Patient and compassionate.
  • Detailed oriented and organized.
  • Proficient with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.
  • Strong commitment to organizations mission and program goals.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends. OLP meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3 to 7 PM, and Thursdays from 4 to 7 PM. We organize 10 field trips per year, most are on Saturdays.

Other requirements: 

  • Valid NC Drivers’ License 
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and latest booster
  • Criminal background check will be conducted prior to employment
  • At least 3 professional references
  • Able to lift 35 lbs.

  • Facilitation skills and comfortable leading group activities
  • Knowledgeable about the Latinx community in NC and Latin American culture
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Familiar with US immigration systems


Annual salary range of $37,000 to $39,500, commensurate with experience. Benefits include 10 days paid vacation, 12 days sick leave and 12 paid holidays. Eligible to enroll in BCBS health insurance plan with optional vision and dental coverage following 3 month’s probationary period.
